Reference Sires


Fullbloods

Fullbloods: These are animals that are 100% Tarentaise and with genetics that are traced back to France. The term came into effect when live animals were allowed to be imported into the United States in the 1970's. The breed being established through semen shipments to the United States prior to live animals.

Purebreds

Purebreds: These are animals that are 87.5 - 99% Tarentaise. The term came into effect when only semen was allowed into the United States. The American Tarentaise association opted to maintain the Terminology.

Composite

Composites: These are crossbred animals ranging from 1/2 - 7/8 Tarentaise. Our crossbred program is crossed with Charolais. Our goal is to develop an animal that takes the best traits of the Tarentaise breed and Charolais breed.
